“Employees”, including day camp instructors, volunteers, as well as administrative staff, should wash their hands and avoid contact, wherever possible, with Employees and campers’ eyes, nose, and mouth. Employees should encourage campers to utilize restrooms and school facilities to wash their hands before and after eating, after coughing or sneezing, after each class session such as outside recreation, and after using the restrooms.
Instructors in educational settings should provide daily reminders to campers to wash their hands with soap for 20 seconds and should leniently grant leave to campers who seek to use hand-washing stations or the school’s facilities to wash their hands and practice proactive hygiene practices. Employees should remind campers to practice coughing and sneezing whenever possible and to the extent which may be possible based upon reasonable accommodations which they may require.
VTHS will place hand sanitizer at the entrances to all classrooms and common areas. Students and staff should “scrub in and out” whenever they enter or leave their classrooms .
Students and staff should wash their hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer before and after gym, recess, and lunch.
Good hand hygiene practices should be emphasized and refreshed throughout the school year.
