Cleaning and Disinfecting

Additional Information

 Janitorial staff will clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces, including playground equipment, at and around the school on a routine basis. Playground equipment must be sanitized before and after each use by groups of campers. Notwithstanding the janitorial staff’s obligations, instructors and staff will be required to regularly clean frequently touched surfaces throughout the day. Frequently touched surfaces include but are not limited to:

· Door handles;

· Light switches;

· Sink handles;

· Bathroom surfaces;

· Tables;

· Desks;

· Chairs; and

· Shared equipment such as electric pencil sharpeners.

To the extent possible, instructors are encouraged to open windows and doors to ensure appropriate airflow throughout the indoor facilities. Each classroom will have hand sanitizer available at all times for use by the campers and by Employees. As Employees, you are encouraged to appropriately use such materials and report any perceived shortages to school administration as soon as possible.

Additionally, Employees will be provided with cleaning products which are approved for use against COVID-19 by the Environmental Protection Agency. Whenever an Employee is disinfecting, they must wear gloves, eye protection, and a mask. If you have a medical disability which prevents you from utilizing certain disinfectants, please contact school administration immediately to discuss reasonable accommodations.  During classroom instruction periods, instructors must ensure that any and all cleaning and disinfecting products are placed in an area with restricted and controlled access which is out of the reach of campers.
